Act Now!
Protect Wharton State Forest

The Pinelands Commission has the authority to designate roads, hiking paths and trails within the Pinelands National Reserve. They need to take action now to protect Wharton State Forest - the largest tract of state owned land within the Pinelands boundaries. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has refused to designate what is and is NOT a road in Wharton State Forest. The destruction of habitats, infrastructure, and historical sites has greatly increased in recent years as people in 4x4 vehicles, ATVs, and dirt bikes have deliberately torn up fragile wetlands, uplands, and dunes as well as making access for other users almost impossible.
